Current Governing Document

The IVCA Constitution and Bylaws (2024) is the primary governing document for the Indian Village Community Association. Adopted by the membership on January 24, 2024 and filed with the Allen County Recorder, it establishes the association’s structure, membership rules, Board of Directors, elections, dues, meetings, and bylaws — all in a single document governed by Indiana Code 32-25.5.

Key provisions:

  • Voluntary membership open to all adult residents (including renters) and property owners
  • Annual dues of $20; membership expires December 31 each year
  • Board of Directors: 5–7 elected members; officers elected by the Board
  • Annual membership meeting; quorum is 20% of membership
  • Amendments require a two-thirds vote of total membership with 30 days notice

Prior Governing Documents (Historical)

The following documents have been superseded by the 2024 Constitution and Bylaws:

Historical Protective Covenants

Indian Village was developed across eight separate subdivisions between 1927 and 1956, each with its own set of recorded covenants. These covenants are historical documents — they either have expired or lack enforceable mechanisms. The 2024 Constitution and Bylaws is now the sole governing document for the association. These covenants are preserved here for reference and historical interest.
